Fecund Grayling Pink Nymph was originally made as centrepiece for the Amber Room table at Matts gallery, to dispense mint imperials for dinner guests to extract. This craggy, weed supporting, grotesque shell-scape centrepiece for mint imperials stands in resistance to that very imperialism, in all its hard and soft forms – its inhabitants thriving in spite of hostile practices of domination and exploitation.
