Tactile ceramics thoughtfully made by hand, to enjoy using everyday.
With a background in architecture and design, artisan maker Sophie has taken her love of texture and form to smaller scale. From her base in Gloucestershire she designs and hand crafts a small number of ceramic pieces, drawing on inspiration from the natural world for decorative themes and colour palettes. Sophie collaborates with fellow artisans to create bespoke collections for restaurants, soaperies and pop ups and creates embellished plates, sgraffito inlaid side dishes and bud vases for makers markets. She uses Staffordshire stoneware clay and a careful choice of slips and blended glazes to create depth, tactility and surface interest. Her choices also ensure these seemingly delicate items of tableware are all very practical: Sophie’s ceramics are food and dish washer safe, and ready to be enjoyed every day.
